Thanks to the responsive multilayer cold foam, Equitex saddle pads dynamically compress and expand to adapt to the horse’s back even as it changes over time.
Welcome to our FAQ hub – clear answers on models, materials, product care, and returns, all in one elegant and easy-to-browse space.
There are several options:
⚠️ Do not tumble-dry, avoid direct contact with heat sources. Please avoid folding Felt models whenever possible.
Yes, your Equitex can be machine washed at 30 °C (86 °F) on a gentle cycle, using a regular detergent. Do not use fabric softener. We recommend a light spin cycle, up to 600 rpm (Felt & Loden Wool up to 400), avoid excessive folding whenever possible, to preserve the performance and longevity of the premium materials.
Yes, you can clean your Equitex with a pressure washer, but only if you use a low-pressure, fine spray setting. Avoid strong or concentrated jets, as they may damage the premium materials and shorten the lifespan of the pad. For best results, we recommend gentle washing and allowing the pad to dry naturally.
Equitex saddle pads aren’t just known for comfort, they’re known for staying with you and your horse year after year. Riders often send us photos of their Equitex pads that have been in daily use for more than 10 years still performing beautifully.
This longevity isn’t just good for your horse - it’s good for our planet, too. Choosing Equitex means choosing a pad that lasts, reducing waste and supporting a more sustainable future.
The spinous processes of the spine must remain free from pressure because they move constantly during the horse’s activity. For this reason, saddles have a central spine channel, which Equitex also respects with a 5 cm wide spine clearance channel, supporting freedom of movement and comfort.
Just like in every living being, including humans, a horse’s muscles are constantly subject to change. These changes depend on several factors: morphological predisposition, nutrition, climate, season, intensity of training, as well as possible illnesses or injuries.
A 100% no-slip material would stick like glue to the horse’s skin, blocking movement and causing damage to the tissue. A pad instead should allow natural motion.
All Equitex pads have an Oprtimal-Grip System designed to help stabilise the saddle without harming skin or muscles. More about it on our Technology Page.
For reasons of practicality and elegance.
For most horses, when used with a properly fitted saddle, the pad helps support stable saddle positioning while allowing the horse’s back to move naturally. In rare cases, additional straps may be beneficial and can be added on request. Please contact our team for advice.
We recommend choosing the right Equitex Model for you and your horse by considering:
The choice depends also on your horse’s conformation and the type/dimensions of the saddle you use. For each model, you’ll find detailed sizing information listed beneath the product.
If you would like guidance in selecting the right model or size, please feel free to contact our team.
For half pads, place it directly on the horse’s back/skin, then position your saddle pad on top.
All Equitex saddle pads feature an integrated shock-absorbing half pad core. This makes saddling extremely simple and elegant, as only one component needs to be placed under the saddle.
An Equitex half pad, on the other hand, is usually paired with a regular saddle pad of your choice. It’s very important to place the Equitex pad directly on the horse’s back. Learn more about how the Equitex technology works.
For bareback riding, Equitex offers the Raidho Bareback Riding Pad. Its special Equitex cold-foam core and the additional rider cushion provide comfort, support spinal freedom, and create a closer connection between horse and rider. Discover more about the Raidho model. Discover more about the Raidho model here.
We recommend the Equitex Treeless model, featuring a 4 cm foam core for extra protection. On request, we can adapt other models to fit your treeless saddle. Contact us for costumisation here.
